Kelli,
You say you have no degree, but you can begin to work toward one. I took my first college class at age 45 and continued until I had my degree. I therefore, was able to teach--which is my God-given talent.
So, enroll, even if it's just one class. Hey, you're fifteen years ahead of when I started! You can DO IT.

Hi there,

Commenting on liking the microphone...

I know how you feel. I've always been the hidden worshipper waiting for my time and being content with the season I am in right now.

I write worship songs. Perhaps a couple of my songs will eventually be recorded. I hope that comes to pass. And I just wrote another worship song yesterday.

I used to attend a small church but then in recent times I began attending a larger church. I couldn't begin to describe the feeling I felt when I sang into the mic. the first sunday and then to be apart of the worship team at church.

The reverb is just amazing. I'm not used to it simply because my last church didn't use that function on the sound board. And also, I had to get used to singing in front of at least 440 people on any given sunday as apposed to less than 100. That was a significant increase number of people. I was prepared in my last church to do what I am now doing at the larger church.

I really believe that the arts are going to be revived in the church. I really believe that there will be and is already beginning this revival in the arts and in the secular. God will be glorified in the arts and for far too long the church hasn't done a good job of stewarding the sheep if you know what I mean. It's like the calling that some folk have wouldn't be affirmed and called out of them in the way it needed to happen. Instead they were discouraged and told to take the back seat when that has never been what God intended. For far too long people have taken the back seat when in actuality they not only needed to be right at the front of the church but the world!

Some people have it all backwords just because you sing in the secular arena or you are an actor or actress in the secular arena that does not mean that God doesn't have any purpose in that.

I love it when I hear people say they love the microphone because it's a desire that God placed in them. Usually those with a great passion for the mic are those with a calling to use the mic. I know some people have a passion to sing and use the mic when really their gift doesn't match their gifting.

I say Go girl!

My dream job...a mom! There has never been anything I've wanted more than to be a mom and be with my kids...now that I have them, I strive each day to be the best mom for them...it doesn't always happen and some days I feel really guilty about not doing my best...but Thank God He is Faithful and has given me another day to try again :)
