I love water.
I always have.
I love to drink it. I love to be near it. I love to swim in it.
Growing up, we went on vacation almost every summer. Myrtle Beach, Ocean City, Virginia Beach, Hilton Head were just some of the many beaches we traveled to. My mom would never go in the water. She'd just sit on the beach under a large umbrella, in her bathing suit and cover up, reading countless novels and magazines. Dad and I would build sandcastles and play in the water on rafts and floats.
Even as an adult I've had the chance to travel to some beautiful places. The Bahamas, Barbados, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. From waterfalls to white sand beaches, I've found relaxation and enjoyment in many exotic places.
But my favorite body of water is quite man made. It smells of chlorine and most likely other chemicals I'm not aware of. There's no sand to get between my toes, no fish tickling around my ankles, just me and the crisp, blue water.
I absolutely love swimming in a nice, clean, secluded swimming pool. I find tranquility in the blue water as it surrounds me. In fact, swimming in a pool is one of my favorite summer activities.
Today we're hanging out at a friend's pool complete with waterfalls and rocks. My son will be excited to see his friends, and my husband will be enthralled in conversation about iphones and all things technology. But me? I just long to see the water.
Do you like water? Ocean, lake, or swimming pool?
This is me in real life. Kelli
Kelli,
The REAL me loves water! I live on a lake. When we were planning on spending the extra money to buy this house, my mother wanted to know, "Why? You don't swim, you don't fish, you don't boat--why live on a lake?"
My answer, "Every day, I'll look at it." And I do. Ahhh.

For swimming the pool. But I am in love with the ocean. I love the way it looks and smells, and sounds. My husband and I long for the someday that we will live in a house that you can see the ocean from. Love it! have fun swimming!
